2014-03-01

The author is part of the "Alternative Management" third year specialization program in HEC Paris

The study of the book Organic agriculture, from doing business to building society is an investigation of organic agriculture´s current paradoxes. Has the emerging profit-thirsty organic business driven organic agriculture away from its initial meaning ? The first part of the study is meant to recall the fundamental environmental, social, economical and political principles at the root of organic agriculture. It is followed by a discussion about the current deviances linked to its integration into the mass-market, and concludes by mentioning few alternatives that should inspire change
