The Army and the social and professional insertion of young people[Research paper] by Maëlle Bouquet

2014-05-26

Maëlle Bouquet graduated from ESCP-Europe in 2012 and was part of the "Alternative Management" third year program in HEC in 2011-2012.

This essay focuses on the contribution of the French Army to the social and professional insertion of young people. Although it is not its primary function, the Army nevertheless recruits and trains young people who would otherwise have trouble finding jobs and inserts others via special organisations (the EPIDE-Military Insertion schools- and the SMA-adapted military service). How does the Army’s special competencies enable it to take care of young left-outs and guide them to social and professional success? How does it answer these young people’s expectations? What are the key factors that make these organizations succeed?
