The role of assisted resilience in the access to the labour market for young people from deprived areas[Research paper] by Juliette Simon

2014-11-10

Juliette Simon is a former student of the Alternative Management third year specialization program in HEC Paris. She is currently at the head of Pote Emploi, which she also founded.

In deprived suburbs, due to the interaction of multiple factors, youth unemployment is much higher than in the rest of the population. In this context, numerous third sector and public sector organizations follow the purpose of favoring the access to employment for young people. Among these organizations, Pote Emploi was created by the author of this research paper in January 2013. This company distinguishes itself through an approach based on the concept of « assisted resilience » (Ionescu, 2011), which is the result of a sociological thinking, fed by readings and by interviews with actors from organizations struggling against youth unemployment. This reflexion and this approach are presented in this paper
