The Urban Investments Group from Goldman Sachs pursues an investment policy that targets public-private partnerships, including high social impact bonds. At first glance, this innovation appears to reconcile social well-being and high financial returns. Nonetheless, multiple challenges lie ahead, of which the financial instrument’s sustainability and effective impact assessment are the two most pressing ones.
