What's the economic impact of the sustainable development policy implemented in Loos en Gohelle?[Essay] by Victor Cabanes, Hélène Doutriaux, Anne Hurand

2008-05-27

The authors were part of the "Alternative Management" third year program in HEC Paris in 2007/2008.

This research paper presents the collected results from an inquiry led in the city of Loos en Gohelle, Northern France, in which some 7 000 people live. An ambitious sustainable development policy has been implemented there. Keen to innovate, the city has already shown great advance in this area. The article aims at questioning the economic impact of sustainable development in a region with financial difficulties, using examples of local shopkeepers.
