Alain Augé was born in 1997 and graduated from HEC. He started his career at the Aérospatiale company, as a financial manager. Since 1988, he is the president of the NGO Cepromar, and the treasurer of the Catholic Delegation for Cooperation. Since 1997, he is the chief executive officer of the publishing house Bayard. He is also the financial director and the director of legal affairs of Bayard. He is lastly chairman of the supervisory board of Milan, administrator of Bayard Presse Investissement and chairman of the works council.

Alain Augé, financial director and directing member at Bayard Presse, describes the management methods in his company. This is an alternative management style, in keeping with the nature of the Bayard group, which is detained by a religious order and which aims for goals beyond financial profit. Yet, Bayard is a corporation like another insofar as it must meet certain profitability requirements. Thus, for Alain Augé, alternative management does not oppose traditional management, but improves upon it.
