Corporate involvement for local development in disadvantaged neighbourhoods [Research paper] by Domitille de la Morinerie

2012-07-21

Domitille de la Morinerie graduated from the ESCP in 2011 and was part of the "Alternative Management" third year program in HEC. She also holds a Master's degree from the University of La Sorbonne, in urban and territorial planning. She is very interested in the current urban stakes and issues and in the economic development of territories.

Many private initiatives for the development of disadvantaged neighborhoods currently arise in line with public policies (more specifically urban policies). This research aims at demonstrating how private actors are more and more sensitive to social issues and how and why they can develop a “territorial social responsibility”. The innovative program launched by a social firm in “le Mantois” will be analysed as a specific example of this evolution. This will lead to consider the evolution of the relation between firm and territory regarding the development of the “corporate social responsibility” movement.
