The moment of crisis is both painful and fertile. In this second semester of 2009, because it is a neologism in vogue, the term “ deconsumption” seemingly has a role to play in the definition of a new equilibrium for the future. The report entitled “Deconsumption in France on the horizon of 2050” aims to contribute to the investigation of this concept by applying the method of prospective scenarios to the universe of consumerism.
