Eco-capitalism, sustainability model against the cynical model - by Patrick d'Humières[Reading report] by Aurélie Gillon

2011-08-04

Aurélie Gillon was part of the “Alternative Management” third year program in HEC in 2011. She also studied at the ENS-ULM, has a bachelor in philosophy and a Master in literature from La Sorbonne. She is very interested in the problematics of sustainable development and luxury : she contributed to create Luxury HEC, which is an association devoted to luxury in HEC and did the HEC certificate "Luxury Strategies".

In this economic essay, Patrick d'Humières denounces the causes of the financial and economic crisis, and presents opportunities for companies with sustainable development - the economically, socially and environmentally sustainable model. CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), as a transition to the sustainable model, requires a complete reorganization of the company and the relationships between companies and their stakeholders. Regulation must be a co-contruction between the various public and private players.
