This article tries to imagine the future of the French ski resorts in 2040, by using the method of Scenario Planning. What will be the snow coverage in the French mountains in 2040? What social, economic and political consequences will it cause for mountain cities? Will skiing remain a fashionable sport until 2040? This article imagines the possible futures for skiing in France and avoids as much as possible unequivocal solutions. Considering the effects of climate change and the taste for skiing, it concludes on four different previsions. Each scenario is independent from the other ones and describes in a creative way the possible changes of the core business of skiing resorts.
