The Seven Day Weekend : Changing the Way Work Works - by Ricardo Semler[Reading report] by Rudy Guénaire

Rudy Guénaire was part of the "Alternative Management" third year program in HEC in 2011. He also has a Master degree in Mathematical Modelling from La Sorbonne. He is very interested in finding innovating management solutions. He is now starting his own company in the fast-food industry.

When he was twenty years old, Ricardo Semler, taking over his father's business, became the CEO of SEMCO, which is a Brazilian manufacturing company. Few days later, he fired two third of the senior management team, so as to be able to radically reform the company. He, then, spent the next twenty years to question traditionnal management practices. SEMCO adopted some very radical management methods while becoming a multinational company employing more than three thousands employees. This book exposes the ins and outs of these practices.
