At the age of 40, after a model career in prestigious firms, Cédric du Monceau decided to join the environment protection NGO WWF France in order to work for this cause. He became General Manager of the NGO in 2000, whereas the association was going through a crisis. In this context, Cédric du Monceau used his past experiences and the ecological convictions of the NGO to suggest solutions to environmental, economic and human issues, still very little considered by that time. Since 2000, the budget of the NGO has increased from 1.2 to 11.5 millions of euros, and the number of members from 40 000 to 120 000, becoming the biggest environment protection association in France.
